Travel to Indonesia Begins Again with Cruises Departing from Singapore
Genting Dream to jump-start cruise travel to Indonesia
Resorts World Cruises is restarting its sailing itinerary from Singapore beginning July 1, 2022. Its ship, Genting Dream, will offer cruise travel to Indonesia with a two-night weekend getaway to Batam and Bintan. This will enable visitors from Singapore to enjoy a quick but relaxing holiday in idyllic Indonesia.
The resumption of cruise holidays is finding favour with Indonesia’s Ministry of Tourism. The country will offer a warm welcome to the company and its ship as they bring visitors to Indonesia. A recent press release from the company states that this makes Resorts World Cruises the first to do so.
Thanking the governments of Indonesia, Thailand, Malaysia, and Singapore in its press release, the company also mentions expansion plans. They will be adding more popular destinations and options to their cruise itineraries. These include Indonesia’s North Bali and Thailand’s Phuket and Krabi from October 2022 onwards.
Revitalising the Tourism Industry
Resorts World Cruises, newly registered as a company on March 9, 2022, replaces the Genting Hong Kong cruise line. Genting Hong Kong’s cruise ship, Genting Dream, will now operate via Resorts World Cruises. It begins its sailing itineraries on June 15, 2022, leaving the port at Singapore to various destinations.
Singapore’s Tourism Board sees this as an opportune time to revive and kickstart Southeast Asia’s cruise industry. They will liaise closely with countries in the region to open more destinations and ports. Visitors will find that travel to Indonesia is one of the highlights as it is a popular tourist destination.
Genting Dream will also be sailing from Singapore to a few select Malaysian destinations. These cruise trips will commence on July 3, 2022.
