Indonesia and China Collaboration in Fisheries and Mining Sectors
China and Indonesia have signed an agreement to boost collaboration in the fisheries and mining sectors, strengthening the strategic partnership between the two countries.
The two countries have signed the agreement with the mutual aim of boosting economic growth, hoping both sectors will foster sustainable practices. Two Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) were signed that will focus specifically on exploring the development of critical mineral resources.
Advancing Indonesia’s Mineral Industry
The collaboration in fisheries and mining will advance Indonesia’s mineral industry by leveraging China’s technological expertise and investment. With the MoUs, knowledge-sharing, sustainable mining practices, and the development of downstream industries will be the main focus. In doing so, Indonesia will reinforce its position as a global supply chain for key minerals.
Indonesia and China will also collaborate in the fisheries sector to emphasise the development of sustainable fishing practices, resource management, and capacity-building initiatives. Together with Indonesia’s rich marine resources and China’s advanced technology and experience, both countries will improve productivity, ensure long-term sustainability, and support local fishing communities.
Collaboration in Fisheries and Mining Expected to Yield Significant Benefits
The MoUs in minerals and the focus on sustainable fisheries cooperation are expected to yield significant benefits. Through the collaboration, Indonesia and China are cementing their commitment to enhancing economic resilience and fostering mutual growth. With a shared vision for sustainable development and economic progress, this collaboration will only reinforce the strong ties between the two countries.
